http://www.union.wisc.edu/film/starlight.html I Love Presets is a Chicago-based experimental sound and new media project, composed of artists Jon Satrom, Rob Ray, and Jason Soliday. They manipulate found sounds and animated GIFs on home-brewed equipment in spectacular real-time audiovisual performances. Through datamoshing, glitch processing, and even downloading viruses, I <3 Presets act out a deconstruction of the digital interface. Settings normally accepted as fixed and stable are hijacked, and anything electronic is fair game for their exploitation, from Excel spreadsheets to video games and drum machines. This special event will feature an I <3 Presets performance of several new pieces and an interactive data-bending workshop in which the artists will demo their unique hacking techniques and art-making processes.

Clip from the first half of our CUFF set on 11.01.08. Andre Foisey joined us on guitar for middle section of our set... unfortunately, none of his playing made it on the recording. Too bad... Our guitar and oscillator wall of black metal was one of the highlights of the set for me.
I Love Presets burrows out from underneath the Chicago Underground Film Festival on November 1, 2008 at Midnight. Rob Ray, Jon Satrom, and Jason Soliday have been beneath the earth plotting to raise the un-dead via live audio/video on the close of the Day of the Dead. Twiddling knobs in a cauldron of cables, home-brewed electronics, hacked necro-ware, and abducted audio, I Love Presets will unleash the sonic-visual calling under-dwellers have been awaiting.
