Although the 14 year old punk in me is screaming "sellout!", I still find this vaguely amusing... My only real problem with it is the choice of songs. How could they leave out Pull My Strings?
I'm tired of self respect I can't afford a car I wanna be a prefab superstar
I wanna be a tool Don't need no soul Wanna make big money Playing rock and roll
I'll make my music boring I'll play my music slow I ain't no artist, I'm a business man No ideas of my own
I won't offend Or rock the boat Just sex and drugs And rock and roll
Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool My Payola! Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool My Payola!
You'll pay ten bucks to see me On a fifteen foot high stage Fatass bouncers kick the shit Out of kids who try to dance
If my friends say I've lost my guts I'll laugh and say That's rock and roll
But there's just one problem
Is my cock big enough Is my brain small enough For you to make me a star Give me a toot, I'll sell you my soul Pull my strings and I'll go far
And when I'm rich And meet Bob Hope We'll shoot some golf And shoot some dope
Clip from the first half of our CUFF set on 11.01.08. Andre Foisey joined us on guitar for middle section of our set... unfortunately, none of his playing made it on the recording. Too bad... Our guitar and oscillator wall of black metal was one of the highlights of the set for me.
Loooooooooong Drones... Slowly working my way through these. Haven't tried playing any of the really long ones yet. I'm not sure my ancient computer can handle them...
I've long thought Incapacitants 'Stupid is Stupid' was the most awesome title for a noise recording ever... I think they might have just come up with something even better.
(Yes, contrary to what that little voice in my head tells me I actually *need*, I will probably be picking up a copy of this when it comes out...)
I Love Presets burrows out from underneath the Chicago Underground Film Festival on November 1, 2008 at Midnight. Rob Ray, Jon Satrom, and Jason Soliday have been beneath the earth plotting to raise the un-dead via live audio/video on the close of the Day of the Dead. Twiddling knobs in a cauldron of cables, home-brewed electronics, hacked necro-ware, and abducted audio, I Love Presets will unleash the sonic-visual calling under-dwellers have been awaiting. Don't miss the fractals of dark-magic as kamikaze terradactyls break the sound barrier by dive-bombing cyborg gymnast pyramids.
