MAINSCW symposium/presentation - June 6, 2006
Enemy presents "The Return of Triumphant Light,"
a symposium/presentation/talk by MAINSCW.
MAINSCW are, for all intents and purposes, a conspiracy theory sort of group...their main concerns seem to be mind control (MKULTRA and the like) and their axis / main argument is "the malleable ether" as the means by which various organizations disorient, manipulate, and even kill people.
The evening will feature a self-guided tour along the MAINSW timeline featuring various documents, followed by a lecture and a question and answer session.
I first heard of MAINSCW maybe 6 years ago while visiting some odd websites. I passed the info to Blake, and he tried to get in touch with them, interested primarily by their take on music and cryptography. MAINSCW is supposedly a cipher concerning musical notes that come the closest to replicatiing what they call the malleable ether. Blake had no luck getting a response from them, so we thought we'd do a MAINSCW "performance," for our own amusement. Not only wasn't the show very good, but four months later Blake received an email from a "MAINSCW representative" saying they of course knew about our show and had considered suing us for defamation and that we should not tamper with what we didn't know. Great.
Fast forward to 2006; Blake found the MAINSCW website while clearing out his bookmarks folder, saw they did lectures one day a month year round on that given month's date, and that june was free. He got back in touch with them and after two months of back and forth and apologies they agreed to present their ideas to a Chicago audience.
Honestly, I have no idea what's going to happen: I don't think it'll be like an infomercial, but am hoping it will be interesting, if nothing else.
The self-guided tour will be viewable starting at 8PM, and the Lecture portion of the evening will begin promptly at 9PM.
